What font can I use?

Can I use the font from my logo in my documents (and other similar questions)

Fonts for logos don’t always work as body copy – and aren’t always “supported”.
We’re working on a logo for a client and also some other material, including a PPT template, proposal template and their website. They asked us if we can use the same font as their logo in the “body copy” for your website. Hmm – the short answer? Best not to. And I’ll explain!
It’s not always necessary to have the font match the logo font – more important that the text is readable and looks good – and in paragraph formats a logo font might not look good at all. But there are technical reasons for this too.

MS Word:

We could use a “fancier” font that we have on our computers, but if you open the proposal in Word on your computer and you don’t have the correct font installed, Word will automatically default to another font that you do have installed and it would through the formatting out completely.
If you do want us to use another font we will need to make sure that any computer you use for editing the proposal has that font installed. Usually this isn’t the case, so better to play it safe. We’d suggest using an easy to read font that is widely available – Calibri (which is what we’ve used) is one of the nicer generic fonts

If you’re doing a presentation you will need to make sure the PC you are presenting on has the correct fonts installed. And if you’re promising the audience that they will get a copy of the presentation, then you definitely want to make sure the font is widely used (but not Times New Roman, or Comic Sans – ban them from your life!)

Websites can have any font you want nowadays, with “web fonts” which are licenced for use online. You can choose from a huge range of available fonts, through services like Google Fonts, Typekit, and Fontspring. Using Webfonts, we have a lot more creative freedom, and for each project, we suggest fonts that we feel work well with your branding and show you these for approval!

With certain services, like Campaign Monitor and Mailchimp we recommend you also web fonts. However, not all email clients offer universal support for web fonts. The main email programmes offer good support, so most of the time they will see your chosen web font. If not, there is a default font people would see instead of your chosen web font if they font have that font. These are – for Apple Mail, Helvetica, for Gmail, it’s Arial and for Microsoft Outlook it’s Calibri.

You can change the font on the Customize Journal Style page; the font settings can be set in the “Fonts” section. You should replace Arial with the name of the font you would like to use, 12pt with the size, and #000000 with the hexadecimal color code you would like for your journal.

Hitler continued to eat a favourite dish, Leberklösse (liver dumplings).” Today, it is believed by scholars, including Alan Bullock, Arnold Aluke, Clinton Sanders and Robert Procter, that Hitler — at least during the war — followed a vegetarian diet.
