Keren Lerner does Acro Yoga

The unexpected AcroYoga demo Periscope I had the privilege to film (with Eugene and Pip)

It’s my first embedded Periscope! And how lucky am I to have gotten this opportunity to film these two talented people.
No, not me and my brother Yariv who are also in this video, but Eugene and Pip – who are part of an emerging trend here in the UK – Acro Yoga!
There is a bit of an intro – be patient – because soon after you get to the good stuff! An amazing demo of “Acro Yoga” starring Eugene and Pip.
Note: After this video was taken I too got on top of Eugene’s legs (as seen in the picture above) and there is another video showing all that, which I have to edit. But watch this first!
If you want to try it, visit the Acro Yoga website – and keep track of their weekly classes on their Facebook page

Afterwards, I got a chance to try it out – as you can see below!

Intrigued now about Acro Yoga? And want to meet Eugene and Pip and (eek) try it?

Below is information straight from Acro Yoga Dance, run by Eugene and Pip – who are featured in my Periscope.
AcroYoga: Blends the wisdom of yoga, the dynamic power of acrobatics and thai massage.
These three lineages form the foundation of a practice that cultivates trust, playfulness and community.
The AcroYoga Workshop is the integration of Yoga, Acrobatics and the Healing Arts. This introduces the full spectrum practice of AcroYoga in a safe, supportive atmosphere. The mindfulness of yoga creates a steady foundation from which to explore the power of Acrobatics and the loving-kindness of Thai Massage. The interplay of all three disciplines will empower everyone to embody the practice with grace, ease, and joy

What to Expect:

  • Learn progressively in a safe, supportive environment.
  • Refine and expand your understanding & embodiment of the practice of acro yoga.
  • Receive guidance from highly experienced and passionate AcroYoga teachers.
  • Build community with local and international students.
  • Celebrate the joy of play.
  • Gain tools for honest & compassionate communication.
  • Learn how to use relationships as a mirror for self-reflection and transformation.
  • Release perceived limitations and explore your highest potential.

You don’t need to bring a partner but are welcome to bring a friend. We promise that you’ll have fun, be challenged, feel safe and yet do things you didn’t think you were capable of.

Teaching team

Eugene and Pip are inspirational teachers. Based in Brighton, they teach AcroYoga workshops and perform through out the UK.
Eugene is a certified AYI AcroYoga instructor. He began his yoga practise with the late but incredibly inspiring Derek Ireland, then John Scott. He took yoga teacher training with Shiva Rea, Mark Freeth and AcroYoga TT with Jason Nemer. Eugene is a 4th dan martial arts instructor and brings years of teaching and coaching experience to his more reason joy of teaching acroyoga.
Eugene & Pip study with some of the best AcroYoga, handstand and acrobatic teachers in the world in order to pass on the best they can to those they teaches. Most of all though he and Pip both believe learning should be fun!
Pip trained as a ballet dancer, dance and pilates teacher. She took naturally to AcroYoga when she began practising as a performance partner to Eugene in April 2014. Since then she has immersed herself in AcroYoga play and study, performed and assisted at many workshops throughout the UK. Pip is training to certify as an AcroYoga teacher herself and assists in numerous handstand/ AcroYoga classes/ workshops each week.
