Juggling Social Media with Alicia Cowan

Exciting news! On the 16th of March, Alicia Cowan and I will be joining forces once more to bring more people over to the world of social media – and ensuring that it’s used properly for business. We have both had a lot of success using these tools in our respective businesses – we even met each other on Twitter!

We are not advocating that social media marketing is there to replace face to face relationships, but rather that it is there to allow people to get to know you and your business in a soft and gentle way. Each of the platforms – Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Plus, and Pinterest – have their own unique behaviours and uses – and though Alicia and I use them all it’s not mandatory.

The rewards of social media are undisputable in our eyes, and  this is because we apply a few simple behaviours but mostly we are just ourselves.

What’s really rewarding is that so many of our previous attendees have become super active on Social Media which is a great way to keep in touch with them.

Social media is another form of networking so it’s really a long term thing, which is great as it gives people time to practice, get to know people, and just let it become second nature.

“I don’t have time for Social Media”

Being in the business I am in, I find I often get into conversations about social media. There are still loads of business people who find the world of Social Media alien and overwhelming.

It seems strange to people who are so used to using social media (like us Twitter Addicts)  that there are people out there who are not participating. But “not having time” is an excuse to not get involved – as anyone who is involved will understand!

I run a busy design agency and have a lot of tasks and responsibilities and “unexpected” situations that happen on a daily basis, and somehow I manage to DO social media every day! This means I am on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Plus, our blog and even a bit of YouTube. And I am going to be increasing this activity, because it’s worth it.

We don’t like to scream and shout about it, but Top Left Design turned 5 years old this August!

To celebrate, we have just sent out our latest newsletter, which you can view here

While you might not have heard much from us recently, we’ve been anything but quiet here at TLD Towers – our heads have been firmly down, working on plenty more lovely website designs for our wonderful clients!

It’s also a good idea not to attract attention to yourself when there’s a riot happening outside – Michael reports from the scene in our newsletter this month, as he lives in Tottenham, the eye of the storm.

We also had a visit from TLD veteran Amy, who flew over from South Africa for a visit, and to meet our new TLD team members!

You can see our latest site launches, which include Rochdale Spears, Anne Sebba, A Business Innovation, Alicia Cowan, and Helicopter Mum – that should be enough to get your mouth watering..

You’ve probably guessed by now that we love blogging. The very fact that you’re reading this blog post, which is about our latest newsletter, that heavily features blogging, blogs, and how to be a better blogger, (breath) proves this to any doubters.

Aside from our blog seminar, the newsletter is a source for all sorts of information – we’ve provided links to valuable resources which should help you out on your quest to be the best blogger in the wild wild west – along with some of our latest website launches.

Take a look here – if you think you can handle the sheer amount of blogging related content found within.
