The trip to Wales to hike Snowdon stands out as the crowning jewel of our journey together.

Amy and Candice came to London earlier this year, so that we could climb Snowdon together and raise money for our client, Starlight Barking.

This was not just any hike.

Or any team building trip.

It was in support of our client’s dog rescue charity Starlight Barking. Together with our group, we raised enough money for our client Wendy and the others at Starlight Barking to buy some land for a new shelter.

The hike tested our endurance and brought our team together for a meaningful cause.

Here's how it went down (when we went up)

🚗 July 7th: We packed up for a road trip to Wales. A scenic stop in Oxford for lunch set the tone for the adventure ahead.

🌄 Welsh countryside: Driving through stunning landscapes, from rolling hills to winding rivers, with Snowdonia’s majestic peaks in the distance.

🫢Upon arriving in Snowdon, we felt a mix of anticipation and determination. Despite the looming challenge of climbing the highest peak in Wales, we were energized by the shared goal of raising funds for Snowbizz.

🪨The hike up Snowdon was both rewarding and strenuous, with steep inclines and rocky paths testing their stamina.

👟 The start: We set off on the hike up Snowdon. The steep inclines and rocky paths tested our stamina.

🎭 Costumes: Donning dog ears and superhero outfits helped to make the mood lighthearted and calmed any anticipatory nerves!

🐕 Aris the Rescue Dog: Aris joined us on the climb, reminding us of the cause we were supporting!

👟 Team bonding: Cheering each other on, sharing snacks, and marvelling at the breathtaking views.

🏔️ Sense of accomplishment: The sense of unity and achievement we felt at the summit was unparalleled. Standing atop Snowdon, gazing over the vast Welsh landscape, we knew we had achieved something truly special.

This adventure was more than just a hike; it was a testament to our team’s spirit and dedication to making a difference.

The memories we created inspire us to continue supporting meaningful causes together!

Hank is 4 and bit years old! ⁠

On Thursday the 27th September, it was his actual birthday.⁠
⁠
Hank is Amy’s son. ⁠
⁠
He was just a baby rescue when Amy found him. ⁠
⁠
He was meant to be a medium sized dog, but grew into a massive dashing young man. ⁠
⁠
Hank and Amy can’t go for a walk without at least one person telling him he’s a handsome boy. ⁠
⁠
Amy celebrated with him by baking him a doggie cake made of carrots, eggs and flour with cauliflower icing and treats sprinkled on top. Hank loved the cake(!) while Mom thought it sounded pretty gross and had a glass of bubbles instead. He wasn’t allowed near the lit candle – but we know he appreciated the effort. ⁠

London, with its vibrant atmosphere, was the perfect backdrop for Candice and Amy's month-long stay.⁠

For Team TLD, working remotely is effective, but nothing compares to the spark of creativity and camaraderie that arises when we collaborate in person. ⁠

✈️ Arriving in London: Amy and Candice were greeted with the energy and excitement of meeting Keren and Tamlyn in person after months of virtual teamwork.⁠

🏠 Daily Meetings: With our base in London at Keren’s beautiful home, we met daily, exchanging ideas, refining projects, and bringing fresh perspectives to our work.⁠

💡 Creative Collaboration: The energy was great, and we all fed off each other’s enthusiasm, making the most of our time together.⁠

Beyond the office, Amy, Candice, Tam and Keren relished in the city’s dining scene:⁠

🍳 Leisurely breakfasts: Indulging in fluffy scrambled eggs on toast at Bonne Bouche.⁠

🍫🔥 Dessert: We highly recommend the Burger & Beyond Hot Biscoff S’mores Brownie & Cereal Milk Ice Cream. It features a gooey chocolate brownie, vanilla marshmallow, Biscoff spread and crumble, finished with shaved chocolate and a dollop of cereal milk ice cream. ⁠

🍣 Quarterly team dinner: Dining at Inamo, with stunning pan-Asian cuisine and unique interactive table surface technology.⁠
⁠
🥪 Quick bites: Many spontaneous stops at Pret for quick bites and take-away snacks, with Pret’s signature “love bars” being a favourite⁠
⁠
These meals shared over conversations ranging from work projects to life stories, deepened our bond!⁠
⁠
We don’t underestimate the sense of unity that will last until we meet again and beyond!⁠

This morning, Keren met up with Kevin, who started

This morning, Keren met up with Kevin, who started his career at Top Left Design a dozen years ago.

He was part of our team for 3 years total, and like all TLD alumni continues to be a part of our extended family. 🥰

During their walk Keren and Kevin discussed technology, career progression, management, efficiency, aptitude, the sweet spot, goals, dreams, family and dogs.

Keren adds:

We walked over 11,000 steps through Regents Park.

The doggy we met is a mix of a poodle and a Pomeranian - with soft fur and a friendly nature.
