My guest contributions on Marketing Business Forum and Business Matters Magazine
I’ve been busy in the last few weeks writing for a number of online publications. And, I am super-pleased to have added to this list with guest contributions on the Marketing Business Forum newsletter and Business Matters Magazine.
Marketing Business Forum, a bi-weekly digital newsletter focusing on the marketing industry, requested a guest blog to feature on their issue released on 22 September, which you can also see online.
The newsletter is read by more than 14,000 subscribers and, following news of the regular social media talks I host at Soho House, I was asked to write an article on social media for business.

For me, one of the most important things a business must retain as it grows is the voice and vision that it was founded upon. Marketers play a key role in perpetuating this as the founder relinquishes certain responsibilities, such as social media, but the best marketers will not, in fact, allow them to abdicate complete responsibility.
Generic content completely masks the true nature of the company – and the marketer must ensure the critical business lens of social media channels is an accurate reflection of its core beliefs, passion and expertise.
Continuing this theme, I wrote an article for Business Matters, the UK’s leading SME business magazine, and its 240,000 unique monthly visitors to the site, on how a business’s website must be grown in a similar vein; that is, founders must abdicate intelligently, not entirely. Business owners must stay engaged with their website, which is a key aspect of business success. It doesn’t need to be onerous – but an hour every month discussing ideas, from customer issues to market change, is essential.
