The Atlas Translations site is one of the biggest The Atlas Translations site is one of the biggest ones we’ve ever done at TLD, and we’re super proud of it. It’s got more than 100 pages, and we have carefully entered and formatted the text for each one, with focus on the SEO.⁠ ⁠ Tam, who worked on the design, created bespoke icons for each service an each sector. Yes – we often take over from other people – s Yes – we often take over from other people – someone may have had their IT company take care of their website hosting before, or another agency.⁠ ⁠ And we’d rather have you with us, so we can take good care of you!⁠ ⁠ This post goes through some of the things we come across during this migration process.⁠ ⁠ 👉️ We may get stuck at the first hurdle – logging in (if details are incorrect by even one character!⁠ ⁠ 👉️ Sometimes (most of the time) we need to have “2-factor authentication) (so, we need to organise a day and time to get 6-digit passcodes)⁠ ⁠ 👉️ If the server is not up to date on the “source” side, we may find there will be old code that doesn’t work on the new server.⁠ ⁠ 👉️ When people are not easy to contact it will cause delayes – for example we may need to have info from those who have the login details we need or information about plugins⁠ ⁠ 👉️ If the previous hosting company won't provide FTP information. we need to get them to send us all the files and database details so we can setup the site on our server. When it’s all working, we’ll point the domain.⁠ ⁠ ⁠ All these issues may mean the takeover takes longer than expected, and that may be annoying, but they’re solvable! ⁠ You may remember the story of The Walrus and t ⁠ You may remember the story of The Walrus and the Carpenter from Alice in Wonderland. It’s a movie I used to watch over and over when I was young (the Disney version) and I loved the bit when the Walrus told a story to the unsuspecting oysters about “cabbages and kings”. ⁠ ⁠ It made the oysters engaged and they all followed him out of the water.⁠ ⁠ In many ways, he is truly wise and ahead of his time – a thought leader!⁠ ⁠ And breaking down what he said, it’s interpretable to be all about the many benefits of Content Marketing as an activity. I decided to simplify it with this diagram to see if this makes sense to others, like it does to me!
