In this issue we bring you Stand up for Health as our featured supplier - if you were wondering how well your work space is working for you and your health, have a read of some of their tips, or better still make an appointment to have them round to assess you.
In case you are surprised next month, we wanted to warn you that some changes are afoot at Clearly Organised: we'll look a little bit different but it will still be us!
Richard is self employed and spends a lot of time in meetings during 'office hours'. As a consequence he has no time to make calls and send emails during the day. Richard sends us an email every morning with his task list. We get on and make his calls and send his emails on his behalf so that he can get on with running his business.
Following on from last month's brief mention of Ebay and car boot sales in our article about Junk, here is a very useful tip on how to identify your junk. This excerpt is taken from Julie Morgenstern's Organising from the Inside Out:
"When clutter clearing or organising, use the 80-20 rule which states that we only use about 20% of what we own. The other 80% is stuff we once used, felt we "should" use or think we might use "someday". Pinpoint what that 20% is that you use all the time. Imagine that there were a fire in your home or office and you only had thirty minutes to save your most important possessions and papers. Which would they be? Your answers will tell you what really matters most to you.
If you still have trouble identifying which items fall into that 20%, buy a package of small red adhesive dot labels. For about a month, stick a red dot on every object you handle, every file that you refer to, and every piece of art or knickknack that makes you feel good when you look at it. In addition, keep a log of every item you look for during the month, but cannot find. By the end of the month, you will know exactly which items really count, and purging will be a breeze."
Try it - you might be surprised!
