Introducing the new Flutterfly Events website!

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

Recently we launched a website for another one of our lovely clients – Erika Unbehaun from Flutterfly Events. Erika is an American wedding planner in London who puts luxury, elegance and sophistication into everyday practice and wanted a website that reflects this. This project had an amazing turn around time – aided by some super speedy work from Erika with regards to getting content to us.

Launching the Carmen Bar de Tapas website and their lovely testimonial

Carmen Bar de Tapas website

Our lovely client at Carmen Bar de Tapas sent us a very nice testimonial last week after we launched their new website.

Here’s the testimonial they gave us here at Top Left Design:

“If you think that having a new website or renovating an old one is a bit of a headache think twice; Top Left Design understood my wishes, adapted to my requirements at once, and for me, dealing with them is a pleasure. Above all, they are so creative that they have highly exceeded my expectations in improving my site. They gave me a quote that suited my budget and once you see what they can achieve, you know it’s definitely worth it.”

We have also included Carmen Bar de Tapas as a case study on our website as we’re very proud of this site (as we are with all the sites we produce!).

Here are some more images of the site.

How Top Left Design is like Lionel Logue from the King’s Speech – helping clients communicate

Monday, February 28th, 2011

King's Speech - on the homepage of our website design for Prescience Film Finance

You may not know this, but we created a website for Prescience Film Finance, which is the company that financed the extremely popular and successful Oscar winning film – The King’s Speech.

A long sentence

For those who have not seen this movie yet, The King’s Speech is about King George VI and his early years as king where he struggled with stuttering and worked with Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue who helped coach him to be confident and competent enough to make those all important speeches as king of England! (whew!)

Communicate key messages with confidence

Here at Top Left Design, like Lionel Logue we  help with communication and help our clients communicate their key messages more clearly though our clean and clear straightforward websites, and we offer them the possibility to express themselves better, and feel more proud of their online presence. The more clear and prepared your message is, the more relevant and effective it is.

This movie is a good example of the importance of communication to achieve your goals. So if you have nothing planned for this evening, run to the closest cinema, buy a large basket of popcorn, make yourself comfortable and enjoy this movie, you  won’t regret it and in the back of your mind, you can think about Top Left Design and our amazingly clear communicative websites the whole time!

Keren and Top Left Design mentioned in our client Bluecoat Wealth Management’s newsletter

Keren and Top Left Design mentioned in a client's newsletter

We were very pleased to see that a client of ours mentioned our name in their newsletter. Robin Clarke from Bluecoat Wealth Management put a PDF version of his latest newsletter into his blog and in the introduction there were the words “Abbie Tanner of ‘A Business Innovation’ and Keren Lerner of ‘Top Left Design’ have done an outstanding job with the new Bluecoat Wealth Management website, which I encourage you to visit and recommend to your colleagues, friends and family”

Our Amy Senyard was the main person responsible for the design and build of this site which is a great one for our portfolio – if we do say so ourselves. And Abbie Tanner was the one behind the strategy, brief, message and wording. If you haven’t seen the Bluecoat Wealth Management site yet, have a look – we are very proud of the work we did! Thanks Robin for the kind mention!

Who’s say was it anyway?

Team TLD is big into websites, big into team building exercises, and big into having fun.. so when an opportunity arises to combine all three it’s really a bit of a no-brainer!

A couple of weeks ago the whole team trekked off to Wales for a weekend to participate in our second Our Say Our Way Steering Group Residential, a project which is going along swimmingly! For those of you not familiar with the Our Say Our Way project, this a website we have just recently launched that will give Young People in the UK, involved in the Our Say Our Way project, a voice within their communities.

Everyone needs a best friend

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Many people believe that dogs are man’s best friend, here at Top Left Design we like to believe that we are man’s best friend.

A good design agency can be the first and best friend you should have when starting a new business or venture.

What is a business without a corporate identity? You wouldn’t dream of starting a business without a name, and the same should be for your corporate identity. Sometimes a logo can be even more memorable than a name.

That’s why Ella from Molly & Max Veterinary Clinic got in touch with us. She understood how important her corporate identity was and she made sure she got the best. We started by creating the Molly & Max logo, once she was happy with that we moved on to business cards, compliment slips and a letterhead. She was now set for marketing her company, but an online presence is just as, if not more important than printed media, and so came about the Molly & Max website!

Fish Financial Website – Featured Project

Monday, April 5th, 2010

We recently launched a new website for Fish Financial, an independent financial adviser firm based in Farnham, Surrey who wanted a site that would really differentiate them. In their own words “we don’t do boring!”.

The site contains several case studies, clear descriptions of their services, and a bespoke designed diagram to describe their process visually.

Have a look at the Fish Financial site here.

On this project we worked closely with Abbie Tanner from A Business Innovation. Abbie is Fish Financial’s marketing consultant and this website is the product of months of her planning and strategy with the Fish team before we even picked up a mouse to start designing!

Here is what Abbie had to say:

““We really wanted to push the boundaries with the Fish website. Financial services firms are traditionally very conservative and while we have a serious message to convey, we wanted to do it in a colourful and quirky way. We elected to use case studies to illustrate the breadth of our services, which we coupled with testimonials to give the site a more personalised feel. The feedback we’ve received from our clients and business partners has been fantastic – it’s even translated into new business! Thanks Keren and the team at Top Left Design.”

We hope you like the website as much as we do!

Many of Marcie’s clients were there and were singing her praises. And of course, we got a mention as well!

Here is what Marcie Buxton, founder of Kamaka, had to say of her experience:

“Top Left Design is a web design company with a special creative vibe, with an edge, with charisma. You are charmed by their talent, commitment and excellent customer service which means you want to go back for more!

I met Keren, the director through a mutual friend at a time when the advice around me was to make do without a website and not to invest in one as I was a new business.

I met Keren and changed my mind, did not listen to the nay sayers and it was my first great decision for KAMAKA. From initial talks and planning in May, the brand and website was launched a London party on 17 September. Many complimented the site and continue to do so.

They have given me a company brand, logo and website to be proud of – reflecting me – always a good thing for PR.

I would highly recommend them.”
