The Year of the Rooster - for business

2017 marks the Year of the Rooster in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. So, without sounding too much like a magazine horoscope page, we thought we would take a look at what the year of the Rooster means for you and your business.

What is the Chinese Zodiac?

The animal zodiac signs play a huge role in Chinese culture. It is a repeating cycle of 12 years, with each year represented by an animal and its attributes. As well as the animals, the calendar also follows an elemental system – metal, wood, water, fire and earth. Each animal and element combination only occurs once every sixty years! 2017 is the year of the Fire Rooster.

So, what will the year of the Fire Rooster have in store for you and your business?

All hail – the Rooster!

Those born under the Rooster zodiac tend to be great people to employ as they are very hardworking and trustworthy. They are excellent timekeepers and have a strong sense of responsibility at work. . The Rooster has also long been a symbol of fidelity and punctuality – we already know roosters as nature’s alarm clock!

The Rooster and Business

There are many interpretations and forecasts of the year of the Rooster, but we think that you should use his positive attributes to help shape your business for the year.

The Rooster’s main skill is communication, which is an important aspect of any business. One Chinese astrologer said that, “we should be using [communication] to make money,” which could suggest a good year for those working in the likes of marketing and advertising! And, as far as I’m concerned, if you run a business, that’s you. See our post about inbound and outbound marketing.
